What memory does the name Weetabix trigger in your mind? For me it is breakfast as a child. Waking up to a bowl Weetabix and milk sweetened with a little honey by my mother. It was my first meal of the day before I went to school every day. And it remained so for a long time. I am sure many can relate. Well Weetabix, in conjunction with Spielworks Media, are taking us back to our youth. The yester years of school and family around the table having breakfast and making memories.

You might not know this about this young lady, but Joyce Maina, the stunning beauty that plays TINDI in the hit Swahili Soap, Sumu La Penzi, is a newbie in the industry, with her current role being her first ever screen role. Talk about hitting the ground running. It is quite interesting how her getting the role came about. She had been cast for a supporting role in JANE AND ABEL, yet another SPIELWORKS MEDIA production, when she was handpicked for the role of Tindi because she suited the part more. And the rest, as they say, is history.

It is an absolute joy to watch Mr. Rent do his thing on screen. Whether it be trying to unsuccessfully break Miriam’s heart, or worm his way to her bed, to being the go-to guy for his brother in law Martin Biko, he is an absolute delight.

Calm down. He is not changing nationalities. But Chris Kamau, aka Okwonkwo, on the hit show SUMU LA PENZI proves that it is never too late to try on new nationalities for size. You might be forgiven to believe that the man is actually Nigerian, given his portrayal of the Nigerian tycoon on Sumu La Penzi, but the man is as Kenyan as can be. The character Okwonkwo is a multi-millionaire who is looking to spend his money on a young Kenyan beauty, but things quickly unravel, as his controlling nature comes to the fore.
