Everyone lies. Fact. As much as lying is a bad habit, we have to admit that there are some lies that are necessary; thus binding the liar and the victim. Below is a list of the most commonly told lies.
1) I love you too.
Many guys are programmed to say these deadly four words. The unsuspecting damsel never sees it coming, until the guy disappears and leaves her nursing a broken heart. Therefore don’t put words in his mouth.
2) No, that dress doesn’t make you look fat.
Honey! If you think you look fat, then you probably are. You don’t need your man to tell you this. And anyway, no guy in his right mind would fall into this trap. So, spare yourself the agony and hit the gym.
3) You’re the only girl in my life.
Any guy who says this is simply lying. You might be the only girl he’s dating, but you’re definitely not the only girl in his life. He’ll have backup female friends however he won’t introduce you to them, especially if they are hot!
4) I’d be lost without you.
Liar! This person’s life was just fine before they met you, so their lives will definitely continue when you leave. It may be a sweet thing to say, and hear, when people are dating, but it’s usually an outright lie.
5) That was my mum on the phone.
Then, why did you have to move away and speak in a hushed tone? Most of the time, if someone is cheating they claim it was their mother on the other end of the line, even when it obviously wasn’t.
6) You’re the only guy I’ve been with.
Yah right! A true virgin would take her time before she lets you in; so if the chase has no challenge, she could just be protecting your ego.
7) Nothing can ever come between us.
Try having a conversation with your man, who is a soccer fanatic, during a match. Well, my point exactly!
8) I would do anything for you.
Until you get caught up in a riot in town. Once the chaos begins, it’s a case of every man for himself and God for us all. So think with your feet.
9) I’m five minutes away.
This lie is one of the most annoying because “five minutes’ could turn into an hour but we still have to wait especially when someone owes you money or is in-charge of transport.
10) Your weave looks great.
If a girl tells you that your weave looks great, trust me, it doesn’t. The fact that she called it a weave says it all. If she genuinely liked it, she would have said, ‘Your hair looks great!’
There you have it; the most common lies on people’s lips. Lying breeds deceit, but sometimes it’s a ‘necessary evil’.
