The Michael Joseph Centre was the place to be on 24th September where the 5th edition of Actors Monologue Challenge {AMC} was held. Hosted by Eddy Kimani of Capital FM, the lucky contenders took to the stage and did all it would take to win.
AMC is an event organized by the Act Right Production that occurs monthly. It showcases and nurtures stage and screen acting talents. Audiences are also given an opportunity to watch live stage performances free of charge.
It all starts with an email application where the actors have to memorize a monologue not exceeding three minutes. After thorough scrutiny, the lucky ones are shortlisted to battle out. The top three winners are awarded with the overall winner getting a trophy and some cash.
Brian Ogolla who stars in Jane and Abel a Spielworks production seemed to have forgotten his talisman after losing to Webbo James. The three- time unbeaten record holder failed to clinch the coveted title falling in third place. The new winner is cast in the new premiered Swahili drama series, Sumu La Penzi a production of Spielworks Media. Other runners up who also cast in Spielworks productions were Peter Kawa {Sumu La Penzi},Sarah Masese and Fredrick Mbatha both of Jane and Abel.
